Thailand is the best country to live in Southeast Asia for expats

Thailand is recently ranked as the best country to live in Southeast Asia for expats. Expats looking for a new life in a warmer climate and at a lower cost of living may choose to consider this Southeast Asian country.

While Southeast Asia is popular among tourists and younger expats, analysts observed the region’s “growing connectedness and ever-improving digital infrastructure.” As a result, the region became an excellent choice for all types of expats.

First Place – Thailand

Thailand unsurprisingly came in first place for expats as best country to live in Southeast Asia. Chiang Mai has been regarded as “expat-friendly,” while Bangkok, the capital, is a bustling metropolis with a plethora of chances. Analysts recognized Phuket and its beautiful beaches as one of the country’s main draws for older expats as well as retirees.

Thailand is a must-see on any list of the greatest expat locations in Southeast Asia. Thailand, the most well-known country in the area, truly has it all. Temples and elephants coexist in the green north, while the rowdier islands in the south provide beach-side life on picture-perfect white sand that reaches as far as the eye can see. And, of course, the luxurious bustle of the capital, Bangkok, is at the core of it all. The so-called Big Mango is every bit a sophisticated international metropolis — while also offering adventure around every turn.

Second Place – Vietnam

Vietnam came in second, attracting expats to the cities of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. However, for something a little different, expats might check out the canal city of Hoi An and the beach resort of Da Nang.

Third Place – Philippines

The Philippines came in third place on the list. With 7,000 tropical islands, the archipelago country should provide something for any foreigner. While security may be a concern in some areas of the nation, the friendly inhabitants, low pricing, and tropical surroundings make the Philippines an attractive alternative for expats.

Fourth Place – Malaysia

Malaysia and its capital, Kuala Lumpur, came in fourth position. Malaysia is very inexpensive for foreigners, thanks to the widespread use of English and the allure of contemporary Kuala Lumpur.

Fifth Place – Cambodia

The Kingdom of Cambodia came in fifth position. Most expats moving to Cambodia are expected to head to Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, or Sihanoukville. These will be the areas with the most developed expat communities for newcomers. English is commonly spoken in the cities, and the residents are kind to visitors. Cambodia is a wonderful nation for expats to fall in love with, with lots of history to uncover.

Sixth Place – Singapore

Ranked as sixth to the best country to live in Southeast Asia for expats is the city-state of Singapore. The small nation, one of the most popular expat destinations, draws many with its skyscrapers and plentiful work prospects. Singapore is the most convenient destination for expats traveling east, with strong English spoken, a plethora of career options, and an exceptionally contemporary metropolis. There is also a sizable expat population in the city, so expats will have access to a ready-made support network if they require it.
